Jonathan Brent Blackford, 48, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, of natural causes at home. He was born December 31, 1969, in Trumann, AR. Jonathan was the general manager at Demo’s Smokehouse at hilltop in Jonesboro.
He is survived by his life-time companion of nineteen years, Karla Blackford; three children, Jason Blackford, Kaitlynn Blackford and his stepson, Ryne Kimbrough; his parents, Dick and Kathy Blackford of Jonesboro; a sister, Lori Watson (husband, Maurice) of Jonesboro, and a brother, Daniel Blackford (wife, Suzanne) of Sugar Hill GA; four nieces and nephews – Haley Blackford of Dallas TX, Justin Watson of Jonesboro, Andrew and Olivia Blackford of Sugar Hill GA.
Jonathan was a member of the StoneRidge Church Of Christ in Jonesboro and was loved by many friends. His hobbies were fishing, making lures, cooking, and fantasy football. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Kentucky Wildcats. He loved children, especially his little cousins, Hallie and Caleb Weaver. Some of his friends from church will serve as pallbearers: Brenden Camp, Phillip Cassidy, Jeff Ladyman, Will Pierce, Jerry Spencer, Jesse Stevens. Other long-time friends will serve as honorary pallbearers: Rodney Bullard, Robert Cuppett, Tim Goza, Ryan Johns, Donald Lawson, Jake Nunemaker, Tim Smith.
Visitation will be at 9:30 am at Emerson Funeral Home with the service to follow at 10:30 am. Conducting the service will be the elders of the StoneRidge Church Of Christ: Kemuel Camp, Scott Stubblefield, and Leon Christenberry. Steve Lands will conduct the singing.
