Johnny Leon Stayton

Johnny Leon Stayton, 45 of Jonesboro, passed from this life Sunday, April 3, 2016 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born in Walnut Ridge to Leon and Glenda Mathis Stayton on August 31, 1970. Johnny lived in Walnut Ridge until 2000 when he moved to Jonesboro. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church where he served as head verger. He loved his family, church and enjoyed to garden and loved his animals. Johnny lived in faithful service to God and his church whom he loved so much. Johnny is preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, an aunt and uncle all of who he loved.

Survivors include his partner of 24 years, E Paul Milam; his father, Leon Stayton (Barbara) of Pocahontas; step-brother, Brandon Sisco of Pocahontas and nieces, cousins and a nephew whom he loved.

His life will be celebrated with a high solemn mass at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2016 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church with Father Jesse Perkins officiating. A reception will follow at 3:00 PM in Parrish Hall.
