Johnny Ray Moore, 71, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Walnut Ridge Health and Rehab Center where he resided.
Johnny was born in Jonesboro and lived much of his life here. He was a 1965 graduate of Nettleton High School and worked most of his life as an Optician and also in retail and manufacturing. Johnny was a member of Nettleton United Methodist Church and loved keeping and caring for animals all of his life.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents: John and Marguerite Carter Moore. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Gail, daughter Sheryl and son Kirk who all lost their lives on May 15, 1968, in the Jonesboro tornado.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Gloria Moore of the home;
1 daughter and son-in-law: Laura and Jimmy McCain of Jonesboro;
1 sister, Sonja Griffith of Jonesboro;
1 brother and sister-in-law: Neal and Betty Moore of Jonesboro;
2 grandchildren and their spouses: Jeremy and Kim Dement of Bono, and Jessica and Trevor Moore of Brookland; and
several great grandchildren.
All services will be private. There will be no visitation.
