Johnny Edward Maynard, 85, of Lake City, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at his residence. He was born December 28, 1936 in Jonesboro to the late Andy Maynard and Lucy Barrow.
Johnny was self-employed, he owned a grocery store and a parts store in Lake City. He owned his own 18 wheeler, working for G & H , that hauled Kroger produce to California and later hauled for the local farmers. He was a Mason at Monette Masonic Lodge #558. You used to be able to find Johnny in the coffee shop in the mornings with his group of friends. He always enjoyed fishing, would spend a lot of time out in the shop just pittling with different projects. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially spoiling his grand-dog Lilly.
In addition to his parents Johnny is preceded in death by; one sister, Martha Maynard; one son, Mark Maynard; one daughter, Stacey Maynard.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Micah Maynard of the home; two daughters, Lisa (Jason) Sitz of Lake City, Shelly Maynard of Kansas; one sister, Eva Creekmore of Lake City; two grandsons, Slade (Amanda) Sitz of Manila, Jerad Kern of Kansas; one great-grandson, Harrison Sitz of Manila; and his grand-dog Lilly; and a lifetime of friends.
Friends may visit at Emerson Memorial Chapel, Wednesday, May 25, 2022, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow starting at 2:00 p.m. Speaking will be Jon Milligan. Burial will be at Lower Cane Island, in Lake City. Active Pallbearers will include Mike Hook, Casey Hook, Larry Ladd, Jim Robertson, Jake Gilley, and Roger Steele.
