Johnny Woodrow Looney, 76, of Bay, died Thursday, February 24, 2011, at home.
Born in Caraway AR, Johnny lived most of his life in Northeast Arkansas. He served in the Army and fought in the Korean War, before working as an electrician and truck driver until retirement.
He was of The Church of Christ belief and was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Lorene Looney, daughter, Barbara Joyce Looney, 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and a great granddaughter.
Survivors include: his wife of 36 years, Jean Looney of the home;
6 sons and daughters-in-law: John and Deb Looney of Black Oak, Randy Looney of Walnut Ridge, Phillip and Tina Nickerson of Jonesboro, Kenny and Cathy Nickerson of Grandbury, TX, Virgil Nickerson of Bay, and David Nickerson of Jonesboro;
4 daughters and sons-in-law: Karen and Larry Boatman of Jonesboro, Kathy and Kenny Boatman of McCrory, AR, Jewell and Bobby Clark of Oak Grove, AR, and Regina Bowman of Bay;
3 brothers, Bill Looney of Trumann, Bobby Looney and Roger Looney both of Troy, MO;
32 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday afternoon, 1-2, at Emerson Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 2pm. Burial will be private
