Johnny Dehm, 67 of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, February 11, 2009, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He moved to Jonesboro in 1959 and was a member of the Church of Christ on Greensboro Road. An avid golfer, Johnny was also a barber at the Ideal Barber Shop on Southwest Drive for many years and was a wonderful loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
Johnny is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gretta, of the home; one son Allen Dehm and wife Polly, Jonesboro; one brother G. L. Dehm, Jacksonville, Florida; three sisters, Helen Harrelson, Jonesboro; Margaret Chappell, Norfolk, Virginia; Virginia Imhauser, Crystal Lake, Illinois; two grandchildren, Lura Beth Dehm, and Amie Jonette Dehm.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, February 14, 2009 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Terry Joe Kee and Bill Willard officiating and burial to follow at Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Friday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Keith Morrow, Glenus Forrester, Allen Gossett, Scott Harris, Bryan Phillips and Lee Aspinwall. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Sutherland, Lepoe Wise, Tobey Stoker, Bob Etter, Jerry Reece, Don Moore, Dr. Ron Smith Jr., Dr William McAlexander, Dr. Patrick Savage, Dr. Clint Edwards, Dr. Craig McDaniel, Nurses and staff of St. Bernard’s CVICU, Members of the Greensboro Road Church of Christ, and all of his wonderful friends and clientele at the Ideal Barber Shop.
