Johnny Dale Baney

Johnny Dale Baney, 66, of Jonesboro passed from this life Sunday, August 09, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born on February 2, 1949 in Alicia to the late Leman and Glenna Baney. Johnny spent all of his life residing here in Jonesboro. He was also of the Baptist belief. Johnny loved fishing, watching races and playing with his grandchildren. He was such a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and would always make you smile. He was a lifelong home builder, woodcraftsmen and cabinet maker. Johnny was an honest and loving man who will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents: Leman and Glenna Baney: Johnny is preceded in death by his brother: Gary Baney and a granddaughter: Emily Claire Whitmire.

Johnny is survived by loving wife of the home, Connie Baney, of forty-four years; one son: Scott (Lindsay) Baney of Jonesboro; two daughters: Shanna (Mark) Whitmire and Kassie(Douglas) Pruitt both of Jonesboro; two brothers: Bob (Linda) Baney of Ward and James Carrol (Martha) Baney of Jonesboro; two sisters: Janice (Michael) McMasters of Bay and Virginia Jo Hagg of California; and five grandchildren: Faith Whitmire, Eli Whitmire, Madison Baney, Brooklyn Baney, and Ondrea Pruitt.

A visitation will be from 12-2 pm Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Emerson Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 3pm at Boliver cemetery in Harrisburg with Mark Whitmire officiating.

Active pallbearers will include: Mark Whitmire, Jeff Baney, Aaron Baney, Theron Baney, Michael Anderson, Bryan Baney, and Douglas Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers will be his long time friends at what is formally known by many as Big Al’s.
