Obituary

John W. Wilson, 78, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born March 13, 1947, in Pocahontas to the late James and Mollie Wilson. John was of the Baptist faith. He worked for Riceland Foods for 38 years, retiring as building manager. He enjoyed hunting, was a great fisherman, loved to garden and was a master aggravator! He loved to play jokes on people and pick at you. He really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who inherited his love of fishing.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by four brothers: Dean Gill, Neil Kibby, James Wilson, Jr., and Dan Wilson; and two sisters, Jimmie Burrow and Wilma Ramsey.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Caroline Wilson of the home; one daughter, Christy Wilson of Jonesboro; one son, Kenny (Ann) Wilson of Jonesboro; two brothers, Archie Wilson of Jonesboro and Bruce Wilson of Bono; a special nephew, Toby Davis of Bono; two sisters, Mary Wilson of Bono and Melissa Lawrence of Bono; five grandchildren: Jacob (Samantha) Wilson, Josh (Lori) Wilson, Matthew (Ellie) Wright, Perri Wright, and Abby Wilson; six great-grandchildren: Laken Hester, Madilyn Wilson, Jentrie Wilson, Jase Wilson, Avery Wilson, and Macie Wilson, all of Jonesboro and numerous other beloved family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Emerson Funeral Home from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
