John William Stogsdill

John William Stogsdill, 81, of Jonesboro passed from this life Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born October 15, 1941 in Paragould to the late James Elmer and Elizabeth Stogsdill.

John has lived in Jonesboro all of his life and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband, a farmer, and enjoyed tending to his horses. John was a very giving person who had a great sense of humor and loved talking to people. But his grandchildren were the light of his life. He will be missed by all of his many family and friends.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brothers, Jim Stogsdill and Jerry Stogsdill as well as a sister-in-law, Wanda Stogsdill.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Vicky Stogsdill; son, Danny (Rebecca) Scruggs; sister, Janet Osmon; brothers-in-law, Harold (Jamie) Shoemaker, Darrell (Sherri) Shoemaker and Gerald (Dana) Shoemaker; grandchildren, Dawson Scruggs, Kate Scruggs and Noah Scruggs; a host of wonderful nieces, nephews and other relatives as well as a very special loved one, Sadie Hanusowski.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 from 1-2 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.

The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm with Pastor Jay Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
