John Calvin Simpson, 67, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, was born April 18, 1958, in Jonesboro to Ulas and Dorothy Simpson. He passed away April 14, 2026, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center.

John was raised in a loving home, and grew up in the Baptist faith, influenced by his mother, Dorothy Simpson. He attended Valley View schools through the 11th grade before later earning his GED and attending trade school for HVAC.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his spare time, John found joy in woodworking, playing the guitar, and his appreciation for fast cars. He was a man who valued simple pleasures and time spent doing what he loved.

John is survived by his brother, Robert Simpson, and his sister, Susan Bounds (Ronnie), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulas and Dorothy Simpson; his brothers, J.W. “Jake” Simpson, Raymond Simpson, Herman Simpson, David Simpson, and Michael Simpson; and his sisters, Frances Whitaker, Katherine Simpson, Linda Brown, Sharon Simpson, and Sandra Bell.

John was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
