John David Simpkins

John David Simpkins, 56, of Sedgwick Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, May 5th at the Unity Health - Advanced Care Hospital in Searcy, AR. He was born July 6, 1963 to the late James and Ruby Simpkins. John was the Manager of Delta Glass in Jonesboro since 2016 and the former Manager of S&S Glass Service where he worked for 29 years. He recently retired as a volunteer firefighter for the Sedgwick Promise Land Fire Protection District with 28 years of service to his community. His entire life was dedicated to helping others. John spent his free time hunting and fishing with family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Laura Simpkins and their children, Justin (Ashley) Simpkins of Sedgwick and Autumn (Weston) Curtner of Jonesboro, his brother, Mike (Stacey) Simpkins of North Little Rock, and four grandchildren Isobel Simpkins, Damon Padgett, Kannon Thielemier, and Clayton Simpkins.

Graveside service will be Saturday, May 9, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Lorado Cemetery with Pastor Rick Hart officiating. Active pallbearers will be Ernie Nelson, Ray Nelson, Michael Wayne Nelson, Dylan Miller, Chandler Diles and Mason McEntire. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Simpkins, Bennie Wiseman, Kevin Melton, Roy Sherman, Darrel Barton and Lonnie Weston.

Visitation will be Friday, May 8, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
