John A. Rodriguez

John Asevedo Rodriguez, 79, of Jonesboro passed from this life Thursday, September 9, 2021 St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born to the late Juan B. and Marcela Rodriguez in San Angelo, TX on March 23, 1942. John has resided in Jonesboro since 2005 after coming from New Orleans and is faithful member at The Rock Jonesboro and a former member of The Refuge Church of the Assemblies of God.

John was a United States Navy veteran. He loved his grandbabies and referred to them as his little chickens. John was so proud of his children and their accomplishments. John was also an avid coin collector.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his sister, Angelina Beech, and daughter, Maria Rodriguez.

John is survived by his wife Cheryl of 22 years, of the home; three sons, John (Steve) Rodriguez of Boston, MA, Dane Rodriguez of New Orleans, and Joshua (Kylee) Rodriguez of Aurora, CO; daughter, Heather (Brandon) Smith of Jonesboro; four brothers, Robert Rodriguez, Pedro (Evangelina) Rodriguez, Gabriel (Kay) Rodriguez, and Andres (Julie) Rodriguez all of New Orleans; sister, Maria ( Deville) Nason; and four grandchildren, Kateland Rodriguez, Marcella Rodriguez, Mackenzie Rodriguez, and Annabelle Smith.

A memorial service will be at 4 pm Monday, September 13, 2021 at The Refuge Church of the Assemblies of God.
