John R. Brown, 70, of Jonesboro died Saturday June 2, 2012, at Craighead Nursing Center with his family at his side.
John was born on February 15, 1942 in Sumner, MS to the late Ira and Irene Brown. He was a self-employed carpenter, and was a member of New Life Fellowship Church. He was a true family man, he enjoyed every minute he received with his son, granddaughter, great grandchildren, and his brothers and sisters. His heart of gold and his outgoing personality will be missed by all that came in contact with him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Lee Brown; two brothers, George and Bobby Brown; one sister, Carolyn Huggins.
He is survived by a son, Tim brown of Jonesboro; three brothers, Rick Brown of Jonesboro, Earl Brown of Ft. Worth, TX, and Butch Brown of Vicksburg, MS; six sisters, Blanche Farmer of Midway, AL, Christine Crites of Ft. Worth, TX, Ethel Davis of Memphis TN, Diane Hartwick of Paragould, and Debbie and Kathy Brown of Jonesboro; one granddaughter, Jodi Brown of Jonesboro; two great grandchildren, Rhea and Tabitha Wilson; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rick Clark officiating. Earl and Kathy Brown will serve as eulogists. Burial will follow at McDaniel Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 at Emerson Funeral Home.
