John Stevens Posey, 77, of Jonesboro, Arkansas transitioned to eternal peace on September 22, 2026. He was born on October 19, 1948, in Paragould, Arkansas.
John was a beautiful and divine soul. If you ever had the privilege to encounter him, you were truly seen and treasured no matter who you are. John had a whimsical sense of humor and held authentic value for every relationship he has had. John was the embodiment of love, gratitude, understanding and repentance. John was always kind and uplifting towards others. He graced this Earth with divine presence and was purposefully placed in each person's life. John enjoyed life, he was always in a joyful mood and loved to make others laugh and to see them happy. Patricia James, is a dear and beloved friend of nearly thirty years to John, they were the best of friends and made so many lasting memories together. Rose Nanney, his neighbor became a treasured friend to him over the past few years and has brought love and light to his daily life. He was dearly loved by his friends Vanessa, Hank, Brandon and the McMasters. He will always be remembered as the sweetest "Uncle Johnny" and a cherished friend to many.
John was preceded in death by his parents Neil H. Posey Sr. and Ruby (Stevens) Posey, along with his two brothers, Neil H. Posey Jr. and James A. Posey of Arkansas. He is survived by his nieces, Dr. Jame B. Pierce, of Little Rock , Michelle Posey Lewis, of Colorado and his cousin Jerry Furlong, of Sacramento, California. He was an active member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
