John Lowell Moncrief, 73, of Jonesboro, AR passed from the life to his eternal home in heaven on Wednesday, January 29 at NEA Baptist in Jonesboro. He was born October 20, 1946 in Forrest City, AR to Floyd and Vivian Moncrief. He is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved in laws Carrol and Glo Holloway of Jonesboro and a sister in law Karen Holloway of Nashville TN.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Charlotte. Two daughters, Charity (Stefan) Cobb of Memphis, and Mollie (Jon) Moore of Jonesboro and one son Johnny (Kim) Moncrief of Richmond, VA. And 9 grandchildren and one brother Steve Moncrief of Texarkana, TX.
John served in the US Air Force for 7 years before returning to civil life and worked in the food industry that lead he and his family to Jonesboro, Texarkana, and Tenneessee before retiring to Jonesboro in 2015. In retirement he started The Ice Cream King of Jonesboro where he enjoyed bringing smiles to boys and girls of all ages.
Funeral Service will be held at 2pm Saturday February 1 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Larry Bailey officiating. The family will observe a private burial.
Visitation will be from 1-2pm prior to service.
