John Kahre Hughes Marsh Sr., 46, a lifetime resident of Jonesboro, died Sunday, September 1, 2024, at NEA Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Jonesboro on February 3, 1978, to John Hughes and Karla Jo Marsh. He was of the Baptist belief. He was very proud of the fact he was a sixth-generation brick mason. As an avid racing fan, he especially enjoyed watching Jeff Gordon. Fishing was a favorite past time as well as riding on back roads listening to music. His favorite quote was “The best there is, was, and ever will be.” In addition to is parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Shane.
Survivors include his wife, Jody Payton, of the home; son, John Marsh Jr. and wife Courtley of Harrisburg; daughter, Shana Marsh and Dakota Jones of Jonesboro; sisters, Cheryl Marsh and Josh Maxwell of Brookland; Amanda Eaton of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Jaylah, Rycen, Oaklan, Zaiden and his beloved dog, Barkley.
