John Norman Hill

John Norman Hill Sr., 65, of Jonesboro passed from this life Friday, March 26, 2021 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born to the late Fred Norman and Ada Dea Hill in Jonesboro on June 11, 1955.

John has lived in Jonesboro his entire life. He was a very artsy person and loved landscaping, gardening, and creating sculptures. John enjoyed cross pollination of flowers, he especially loved the Japanese maples. He was such a collector of all things.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife, Reba Hill; son, John Hill Jr.; brother, Noel Hill; granddaughter, Remanda Hill; and grandson, Braylen Pippinger.

John is survived by his daughter, Mandy (Robert) Pippinger of Jonesboro; brother, Danny (Julie) Hill of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Allison Closson, Bladen Pippinger, and Annsley “Angel” Pippinger; and great grandchildren, Payton Pippinger, Oakley Closson, and Bentleigh Closson.

A visitation will be from 1-2 pm Friday, April 2, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Steve Alexander officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with active pallbearers being: Phillip Goodwin, Ricky Goodwin, Thomas Hilliard, Seth Lochridge, Jason Veal, and Marc Brewington.
