On Sunday, January 6, 2019, John Henry Wagner "Johnny" loving husband, dad and Pawpaw passed away at age 80, in Paragould, Arkansas.
Johnny was born on October 13, 1938, in Fisher, Arkansas, to the late Truman Henry Wagner and Nannie Mae (Cannon) Wagner. He attended Cherry Valley and Lake City schools. On October 31, 1957, he married the love of his life and best friend, Eva Nadine Owens. Together they raised one daughter Rebecca and three sons Johnny, Nathanael, and Daniel in Brookland, Arkansas. In his early years, he worked at the Singer Plant then went on to start his own painting business, "Wagner Painting" in which he took great pride. Johnny enjoyed life and loved to be surrounded by his family. He was a hard worker and never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting with family and loved his fried catfish. In addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his brother Harvey Wagner, and sister, Birdie (Wagner) Johnson.
He is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Eva Nadine Wagner of the home; three brothers: Bill (Wanda) Wagner, Robert Wagner, Larry Wagner; two sisters, Sue Parnell, Freda Toney; his four children: Rebecca (Wagner) Murphy, Johnny Wagner, Nathanael (Pam) Wagner, Daniel (Jennifer) Wagner, eight grandchildren; Aaron Murphy, Matthew Murphy, BreAnna Murphy, Jonathan Wagner, Sierra Logan, Hannah Wagner, Ashtyn Burdin, Jaedyn Wagner; and six great-Grandchildren, Maddox Murphy, Baylor Murphy, Skye Murphy, Cash Logan, Cannon Logan, and Harlie Burdin.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2019, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Emerson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rick Hathcoat officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with active pallbearers being Aaron Murphy, Matthew Murphy, Jonathan Wagner, Bill Wagner Jr., Brandon Burdin, and Kerry Murphy.
