John Oliver Henry, 57, of Jonesboro, transitioned from this life on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Born on March 8, 1967, in Jonesboro, he was the cherished son of John and Carolyn Henry.

John's life was defined by his devotion to family, faith, and his passions. He was an active member of the Valley View Church of Christ, finding solace and strength in his spiritual community. An avid sports fan, John's heart belonged to the Dallas Cowboys and the Boston Celtics. His enthusiasm for sports was infectious, bringing joy to those around him.

John's memory will forever be cherished by his daughter, Hilary Davis of Harrisburg, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his loving parents, John and Carolyn Henry, his dear sister, Shelly Brown (Scott) of Jonesboro, his adoring grandchildren, Samuel Davis and Annah Katherine Davis, both of Harrisburg, and his nieces, Allison Brown and Emily Brown, both of Jonesboro. In addition to his immediate family, John leaves behind a multitude of relatives and friends who were touched by his kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit.

The visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon at Emerson Funeral Home.

A funeral service to honor John's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Emerson Funeral Home with Michael Meredith officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery with the active pallbearers being Randy Simpkins, Johnny Cravens, Wesley Rothe, Audie Cox, Hugh Walton, and Michael Dickens.
