John Elic Goad

John Elic Goad, 41, of Brookland passed from this life Saturday, October 22, 2021 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. He was born to Earl and Gwendolyn Goad on October 17, 1980 here in Jonesboro and has spent his life in the Jonesboro/Brookland area. He was a member of Apple Hill Church of Christ. John loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with family. He was such a hardworking man. John loved the outdoors and going camping. He was such a selfless man who would do anything for anyone and always put others first.  The world has lost one of the good ones.

In addition to his father, Earl, John is preceded in death by his sister Victoria Prine.

John is survived by his wife, Rachel Goad, two daughters, his gaming buddy Chloe and his little princess Riley; mother, Gwendolyn Goad of Jonesboro; brother, Earl Dennis (Patricia) Goad of Lorado, TX; and sister, Joy Goad of Jonesboro.

A visitation will be Monday, October 25, 2021 from 5 -7 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home with James King officiating. Burial will take place at Pine Log Cemetery with active pallbearers being: Bob Metcalf, Chris Carter, Noah Brown, Matthew Sullivan, DJ Silas, Owen Sullivan, Adam Roedel, and Alan Roedel.  Honorary pallbearers are Earl Dennis Goad, Wesley Goad-Lopez, Ricky Goad-Lopez.
