John Lee Fisher

February 4, 1934 — May 2, 2022

John Lee Fisher, 88, of Jonesboro departed from this life Monday, May 2nd, 2022, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

He was born on Feb. 4th, 1934 in La Belle, MO to James Henry and Leona Fisher. John earned a degree in Agriculture Engineering from the University of Missouri. He moved from California to Jonesboro in 1972. As engineer of the FMC Corporation of Jonesboro, John designed equipment that helped modernize the spraying and gathering of crops. He frequently traveled to countries in South America teaching others how to use this equipment. He retired from Mid American Manufacturing Company as Engineering Manager in 2008.

John and Wilma Smith married in 2006, and he became a cherished member of her family. He spent many days working in his yard and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Fisher.

Survivors include his wife, Wilma Fisher; sons Jeff Fisher and Kevin Fisher of San Jose, CA; Darren Fisher of Rogers, AR; daughter Audra Stegall of Monroe, LA: 8 Grandchildren as well as Wilma’s children and grandchildren.

There will be a visitation Friday, May 6, 2022 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.at Emerson Funeral Home.

Burial will be private.

Husband and retired engineer John Fisher will be remembered with love long after his passing.
