John Emmett Ellis, 85 of Batesville died Friday December 29, 2006 at White River Medical Center.
  
  
  He was born in Memphis, Tenn. and had lived in Jonesboro for 53 years. He was owner/operator of Crowley Ridge Machine Shop, and retired from General Electric, and was a WWII Navy Veteran, and also a boy scout. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ
  
  
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Avanelle Ellis and his parents William R. Ellis and Lola Matthews Ellis.
  
  
  Surviving relatives include his two sons: Matthew Ellis of Chattanooga, Tenn.
  
  Dan Emmett Ellis of Nashville, Tenn.
  
  One Daughter: Claudia Nobles of Batesville, Arkansas
  
  
  One Sister: Lola Robertson of Delaware
  
  
  Six Grandchildren and Four Great-Grandchildren
  
  
  Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday December 30, 2006 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Jimmy Adcox officiating.
  
  
  In lieu of flowers family request that memorial be made to Paragould Children’s Home
