John C. Steele, 88, of Jonesboro, died Thursday evening, August 3, 2006, at Rose SkilCare in Jonesboro.
Born in Leachville, Mr. Steele lived several years in Flint, Michigan where he operated John C. Steele Plumbing and Heating Service. He lived in Florida and Scott, Arkansas before moving to Jonesboro in 1999.
Mr. Steele was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Jonesboro where he was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class. He was a U.S. Marines Corps veteran of W.W. II, and a member of Sons of the American Revolution.

His Wife: Maxine Myers Steele of the home;
2 Sons: John L. Steele of Flint, Michigan, and
Michael Steele of Fort Myers, Florida;
2 Step Sons: Jim Steele of Jonesboro, and
Keith Steele of Marked Tree;
1 Daughter: Karen Steele of LaBelle, Florida;
1 Brother: Rev. Norris Steele of Little Rock;
2 Sisters: Dulcia Smith of Waldron, and
Thekla Syron of Tarpon Springs, Florida;
Several Grandchildren, and
Several Great Grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday morning at 10:00 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Toombs and Rev. Norris Steele officiating.
Entombment will be in Lee Memorial Park in Lehigh Acres, Florida.
Visitation will follow the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to a church or charity of the donor’s choice.
