John Alfread Wilson, 69, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017, in Jonesboro.
John was born in Birdeye, and lived much of his life in the Jonesboro area. He worked over 20 years as a driver for the Jonesboro City Sanitation Department before his retirement. John had given his heart to God Almighty and had visited Calvary Chapel Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed playing dominoes with his friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents: Alfread E. Smith Wilson and Bonnie McDole Wilson and two brothers: Jimmy Wilson and Don Wilson.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law: Della and Larry Prine of Jonesboro;
2 brothers and sisters-in-law: Chris Lee and Patricia Wilson of Bono and Steve Allen and Jackie Wilson of Jonesboro; and several nephews and nieces.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Trinity Cemetery near Bono with Pastor John Lawrence officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.
