Joe H. Worley

October 15, 1941 — January 16, 2007

Joe H. Worley, 65, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday morning at NEA Medical Center. He had lived in Jonesboro for the past 34 years and was a member of the Highland Drive Christian Church.

Mr. Worley was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was a big fan of the Razorbacks and loved working crossword puzzles.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Harold Worley and a sister, Anne Hatfield.

Mr. Worley is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Worley, Jonesboro; a son, Jody Worley, Jonesboro; 2 daughters, Robin Bowers, Jonesboro; Kay Stump and her husband, Brian, Jonesboro; his mother, Opal Worley, Trumann; a brother, Thomas Worley and his wife Veria, Trumann; and a sister Rosemary Ballard, Trumann. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jonathan Smithee and his wife Dorilee, Clint Smithee, Brooke Bowers, Michael Coles, Aundy Coles; great-grandchildren, Cierra Navarro, Bailey Coles; many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Pat James officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Active pallbearers will be Dennis Gillis, Earnie Miller, Bill Craft, Larry Higgins, Todd Looper, Wayne Blake, and Pete Tharpe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Stump, Rodger Kiser, Mike Coles, Michael Coles, Jonathan & Dorilee Smithee, Clint Smithee, Brooke Bowers, and Aundy Coles.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
