Joe Wayne Heath

Joe Wayne Heath, 58, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, January 18, 2016, at his home of natural causes.

Joe was a native and life-long resident of Jonesboro. He was a 1976 graduate of Nettleton High School where he was a member of the track and football teams. Joe was named All-Conference and All-State in football his senior year and played in the 1976 Arkansas All-Star football game in Little Rock. Joe signed a football scholarship with Arkansas State University and was a member of the team until a knee injury ended his playing time. He graduated from ASU in 1980.

Joe was a farmer and land owner. He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Heath; his paternal grandparents: Ray and Clara Heath; and his maternal grandparents: Elmo and Edna Smith.

Survivors include his mother, Nell Heath of Jonesboro;
1 brother and sister-in-law: David and Denise Heath of Jonesboro; and
numerous other relatives and friends.

At Joe's request all services will be private. There will be no visitation.
