Joe Mack Campbell, 83, of Bono passed from this life Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 30, 1931 in Monette to the late James and Vivian Campbell. Joe lived his entire life in the Jonesboro Area where he was also a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Joe was a loving and caring family man who was very devoted to attending his kids and grandkids events no matter the circumstance. He enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, raising cattle, horses and other livestock. Joe was very active in the NEA Horseshow Association, hosted multiple horse shows and rodeos located at Joe Mack Campbell Arena, and were also a board member of the NEA District Fair and Rodeo Association. He was inducted into the Valley View Hall of Honor and was also a huge sports fan. Joe served well in the NEA area, always willing to help the local schools and the community. Joe was the owner of Jonesboro Auto Auction. In 1968 following the ice storm, Joe was honored by Southwestern Bell for burying 25 miles of cable in 18 days, for the world’s fastest time.

In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his sister: Jean Griffin; and grandson: Casey Campbell.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Dena Campbell, of 62 years of the home; three sons: Joe Mack, Jr. “Buster” (Linda) Campbell of Black Oak, Keith (Lisa) Campbell of Jonesboro, and Benny Campbell of the home; daughter: Kerri (David) Felts of Bono; two brothers: Brady (Wanda) Campbell and Kenneth (Zelda) Campbell both of Jonesboro; sister: Violet Campbell of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren: Kristy(Cade) Wilson, Katey Campbell, Kyley Campbell, Bryan (Erica) Campbell, Douglas Hundley, Dustin Hundley, Lane Campbell, Avery Felts, and Mallie Felts; three great-grandchildren: Kenzley Wilson, Riley Campbell, and Brady Campbell.

Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2014 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church with Reverend Chris Hemund officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with nephews serving as active pallbearers: Jeff Mahon, Vince Mahon, Charlie Harris, Danny Liles, Chris Campbell, and Blake Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his lifelong friends.

Visitation will be from 5-8 Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home in the Chapel.
