Joe Duncan

Joe Duncan, 56, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011. He has lived in Jonesboro since 1973, moving here from Wynne, Arkansas and was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church. During college Joe played the bass guitar in two different bands, Wake and Steelwind. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the NEA Horse Show Association and the Phillips Hunting Club. For the past several years, Joe has worked at International Paper where he received the National Sales Excellence Award. He was preceded in death by his father, Nelton Duncan; grandson, Gabriel Stewart; brother, John Buncan; nephew, Adam Harrington; and niece Jill Wilson.

Survivors are his wife, Carol, of the home; son, Drew Duncan; daughter, Cari Duncan both of Jonesboro; mother, Myrtle Duncan of Wynne; brother, Allen Duncan of McKinney, Texas; sister, Carolyn McFadden of Wynne and one grandchild, Peyton Layne.

A memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, at Walnut Street Baptist Church with Dr. Glen Putman officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge. Visitation will be Thursday night from 5-7 at Emerson Funeral Home and burial will be private.
