George Joseph “Joe” Beatty, 72, of Jonesboro was released from his earthly burdens to return Home on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House with family by his side. A longtime retired resident of Jonesboro, Joe best loved his work as a restauranteur in Canyon, TX and Ash Flat, AR. He loved bowling and baseball, often playing in leagues and teams when he wasn’t following his favorite players on TV.

He was preceded in death by Andrew and Margaret Garvin Beatty, his parents; Josephine Beatty, to whom he was married for over 25 years; and Dorothy Uhran, his beloved aunt.

He is survived by his three daughters, Teresa Wooten, Patty Nelson, and Sherri Beatty all of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Eric Wooten, Tyler Wooten, Brenna Wooten, Alyssa Nelson, and Miles Beatty; one brother, Tom Beatty (Sandy) of Poland Township, Ohio; nieces and nephews Michael Beatty, Keli Beatty Bellas , Andrea Salinas McKenna, Christy Skurla Runkel, Jenny Skurla Foltz (Jeff), Jeff Skurla (Gretchen), Michael Karanicolas, Karen Karanicolas, Gina Karanicolas; and his treasured dog, Jade.

Funeral services will held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Adcox officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Foltz, Jesse Gunter, Wayne Mahan, Eric Kahoun, Wesley Rollins, and Carter Shelton

Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Wooten, Miles Beatty, Tom Beatty, Jeff Skurla, Michael Beatty, and John Skurla.
