Joana L. Bergener

Joana L. Bergener, 84 of Jonesboro, passed from this life Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born July 30, 1931 to Frank L. Huffman and Geraldine Harvey Huffman in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania. Joana is preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister and a brother. Joana loved to decorate at Thanksgiving and Christmas, her favorite holidays. She enjoyed reading and cooking, watching television and she especially loved her kids. Joana was also known to be independent and stubborn. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: Joana’s loving husband of 60 years, Walter Bergener of the home; 2 sons, Walter Bergener III (Suni) of Chula Vista, California and Rich Bergener (Melissa) of Jonesboro; also several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.
