Jo Ann Smith

Jo Ann Smith, 72, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, June 09, 2009, at NEA Baptist Medical Center. She lived her life in Jonesboro and was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. She was also a member of Pistols and Petticoats Square Dance Club and the Arkansas Camper Dancers. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents Paul Sr. and Ruby Elder.

Jo Ann is survived by her husband of 31 years, Homer Smith; sons, Scott York and wife Barbara, Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Paul York and wife Shelly, Springfield, Missouri; Step-son, Alan Wayne Willis, Memphis Tennessee; step-daughter Charma Sue Edwards, Memphis Tennessee; brother Paul Elder Jr., California; grandchildren Alecia Jean York and Amanda Emerson; step-grandchildren Randy Ball Jr, Mary Conder and four other step grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 5:00 P.M., Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Murl Smith as the eulogist and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be private.
