Jimmy D. Walker, 69, of Jonesboro went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 18, 2017 at his home. He was born in Jonesboro on August 12, 1947 to Vernon and Lurane Morgan Walker. Jimmy lived in Jonesboro throughout most of his life and worked as an engineer for Southwestern Bell for 36 years. He was a lifelong member of Central Baptist Church.

Jim was a man who lived by faith, worked with his hands, and loved with his whole heart. He was loved in return by a great many people and treasured his time spent in service of them. He set a lifelong and unmatched example of a loving husband, a devoted father, and a steadfast friend. He will be dearly missed.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Walker and a brother, David Walker.

Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Sharon walker of the home.
Sons, Tim Walker (Kathi) of Fayetteville and Shane Walker (Alejandra) of La Sarena, Chile.

Daughter, Nicole Cousins (Michael) of Mt. Home, Arkansas.
Mother, Lurane Walker Daugherty of Jonesboro.

Brothers, Vernon L. Walker and Danny Walker all of Jonesboro.
5 grandchildren, Eden Melick, Lillian Cousins, Emily, Grace and Amalia Walker.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday April 21, 2017 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Don Blackmore officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. on Friday in Emerson Memorial Chapel.
