Jimmy “Jim” Leroy Mullins, 70, of Bono passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at St. Bernards Medical Center with his family by his side.
Jimmy was born on March 13, 1944 in Hergett to the late Bill and Bessie Enlow Mullins. He lived all of his life in the Bono area, and he was a previous member of Central Baptist Church. He currently attended Poplar Valley Freewill Baptist Church in Bono where he was a devoted prayer warrior. He built homes for 25 years with his friend Kenneth Pinchback before going to work at Hytrol Conveyer Co., Inc. He was retired this past December after 29 years of service. He was a talented musician who could play several different instruments, and he enjoyed writing children's books. He always enjoyed being outdoors, especially if he was fishing on the Black River. Jimmy will be missed dearly by his canine friend, Rusty Bob. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and his love for his family will be missed but never forgotten.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Max and Rudy Mullins; one infant sister, Bonnie Mae Mullins; one nephew, Roger Foreman; cousins, Billy and Gene Clayton, Bessie Head, and aunt, Rosie Clayton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia "Fern" Bounds Mullins of Bono; one daughter, Sandra Cook Beeler (Michael) of Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Logan and Ethan Beeler both of Jonesboro; two brothers, Charles Mullins of Jonesboro and Frank Mullins of Bono; three sisters, Maxine Conatser of Leroy, IL, Ruby Foreman of Egypt, and Geraldine Womack of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be Friday afternoon at 2pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Marion Stringer and Hoover Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
Pallbearers are Shawn Cook, Brandon Bounds, Steven G. Futrell, Justin Cline, Anthony Oden, Charlie Miller, Louie Asher, and Terry Flack.
Honorary pallbearers are Buck Bounds, Ray Neal Bounds, David Jones, Ronnie Bounds, Jerry Bounds, and JW Grooms.
