Jimmy Lee King, 55, of Steele MO passed away at his residence on January 13, 2015.

Jimmy was born on March 6, 1959 in Paragould, AR.  He was an Army Brat and lived in several location and states throughout his youth.  He loved traveling to new locations and enjoyed moving every to two to four years.  Jimmy loved it when his father would take him to work, and dress him up in his own little army uniform.  Jimmy graduated from CoCo Solo High School in the Panama Canal Zone in 1976.

Jimmy joined the US Navy where he was a mechanic on the newly developed F-18 Fighter Jet, he served eight years in the US Navy where he attained rank of AMH2 (E-5).  His decorations and awards included Good Conduct Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Expeditionary Medal, and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.  Upon his discharge from the Navy he went to work for Lockheed Corporation as a mechanic on the F-18 Fighter Jet which he enjoyed dearly at the Naval Air Station in Meridian, Mississippi.  He later moved to Steele, MO area and worked for Dawson Machine Shop in Blytheville, AR for several years until he retired due to his health, and he was of the Baptist belief.

Jimmy was preceded in death by an infant brother; his great grandparents, Tom and Mary Davis of Hornersville, MO  whom he loved dearly; grandparents, G.C. and Thelma Heathcock; uncle, Jerry Mills all of Steele, MO; aunt, Mary Ann Heathcock of Cooter, MO.

Jimmy is survived by his parents, Everett and Peggy Evans of Jonesboro, AR; two daughters, LeAnn Marie King of Marion and Mary Elizabeth King of Arbyrd, MO; two sons, Jimmy Lee King Jr. “Bo” of Steele, MO and Jerry Lee King of Arbyrd, MO; three grandsons, Jayden Copeland, Nolan Mays both of Marion, AR and Dalton King of Steele, MO; and one granddaughter, Laela Threadgill of Steele, MO; a host of aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and two special friends Bill and Lisa Hall of Steele, MO.

The family will have a private Memorial service at a later date with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
