Jimmy Royce Emerson, 66, of Jonesboro peacefully journeyed to Heaven surrounded by the love of his family Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at his home. He was born April 10, 1957 in Jonesboro to James Warner and Robbie Evelyn (Barnett) Emerson. Jimmy graduated from Bay High School in 1975. He enlisted in the Arkansas National Guard and proudly served his Country for 8 years. After graduating Jimmy started his 35-year career with Delta Consolidated where he was affectionately known as “Spanky”.
Jimmy was an active member of both the National Hog Club and the local Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp showing his great love and pride of his Harleys and southern heritage.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in passing by his stepdad or “Pops”, William H. Jones and his stepdaughter, Amanda J. See.
Jimmy passes all his love to his soulmate, Sally J. Emerson; son, Jay Emerson; daughter, Stephanie Griffey; Stepson, David J. (Dolly) See; grandsons, Dylan and Shane Griffey; granddaughter, Tinsley Griffey; brother, Warren (Sandra) Emerson; 3 nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of cousins.
Funeral service will be Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Louis Blanchard officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with active Pallbearers being Bryan Barnes, Adam Emerson, Matt Emerson, Dylan Griffey, Daniel Nix and Steve Romine. Honorary Pallbearers will be Shane Griffey and Scott Zetlmaier.
Visitation will be Friday, March 8, 2024 at Emerson Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 pm.
