Jimmy Don Brewer, 88, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, January 30, 2025. He had lived in Jonesboro since 1967. He was born on July 12, 1936, in Buckeye, Arizona to Don and Helen Brewer. He was a member of the Nettleton Baptist Church. He retired as a driver from Jones Truck Line. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Things in life he enjoyed were all outdoors, hunting, fishing and cattle farming. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mackey Brewer.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathleen Brewer, of the home; sons, Jim Brewer (Renee) of Jonesboro; Doug Brewer (Elaine) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; Brian Brewer (Stefanie) of Nolensville, Tennessee; brother, John Brewer; sister, Joyce Poe, both of Jonesboro; granddaughters, Courtney Brewer, Skyler Brewer, Monroe Brewer; step-grandsons, Chris Talley, Hayden Staton, and Grant Staton.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Stan Ballard officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The burial will be at Nettleton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.
