Jimmy Don Ashley

Jimmy Don Ashley, age 71, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 5, 1952, in Hoxie, Arkansas, to the late Donald and Mildred Ashley, Jimmy was a cherished member of his community. After coming from Wisconsin, he made Jonesboro his home in 1995, where he became deeply rooted in the lives of those around him.

Jimmy was a graduate of Dyess High School, Class of 1970, and his commitment to service was evident throughout his life. He was a dedicated member of The Rock Church of God and actively participated in various organizations, including the Citizens Policing Academy, Fraternal Order of Police, Disabled Sportsman of Arkansas, Arkansas Spinal Cord Commission, American Wheelchair Bowlers Association, and the Arkansas Bowhunters Association. His involvement in these groups reflected his compassionate nature and his unwavering desire to serve others.

An avid outdoorsman, Jimmy found joy in hunting and spending time in nature. His love for the outdoors was a central part of his life.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael Ashley, Ricky Ashley, Kenneth Ashley, and Larry Griggs, as well as one sister, Carolyn Stewart. He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Chris Ashley, of the home; his loving sons, Jimmy Dale (Tammy) Ashley of Roland, OK, and Jamey Darrell (Sharon) Ashley of Tyronza; his cherished siblings, Jerry Lynn (Kristi) Ashley of Cabot, Danny (Ronda) Ashley of Lepanto, Debbie (Billy) Robertson of Osceola; his adored grandchildren, Jamey Ashley II, Candace (Clayton) Baker, Joshua Ashley, Wyatt Ashley, Logan Ashley, and Alexa Ashley; and his precious great-grandchildren, Aydyn Roper, Dakota Ashley, Seth Ashley, Avery Ashley, Kadence Ashley, Lilly Ashley, Rhoa Ashley, Jensen Hendrix, Gracelynn Baker, and Jonah Baker.

Family and friends are invited to honor Jimmy's life during a visitation from 9-10 am on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Emerson Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 10 am, officiated by Pastor Jeff Watson. Jimmy will be laid to rest at Caraway Cemetery.

Forever in our hearts, Jimmy will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
