Jimmie Dewayne Mize

Jimmie Dewayne Mize, 79, departed this life on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Memphis VA Medical Center. He was born May 29, 1943, in Harrisburg, AR, to the late Jim Sid and Ruby Ruth Mize.

Jim was a Chief Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, serving for 28 years before retiring. After retiring in 1992, he moved back to Jonesboro where he spent the rest of his life, with his wife Joyce Mize and daughter Pamula Mize. He was a member of Friendly Hope Baptist Church, and a member of the VFW Post #1991.

He is survived by; his wife of 55 years, Joyce A. Mize of the home; one daughter, Pamula Kristina Mize of Jonesboro; one brother, Sidney Mize of Jonesboro; two sisters, Sandra Padon of Bay, Karen Hancock of Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 27, 2023 at Emerson Memorial Chapel beginning at 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow starting at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro. Pastor Bro. Bobby Barnett will be officiating the service.
