Jim Wilmoth, 86 of Jonesboro, passed from this life Monday, March 25, 2019 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born to the late Ruel and Lona Reedy Wilmoth in Lepanto, Arkansas. Jim worked in telephone sales and service for Southwestern Bell Telephone/AT&T. He was a proud veteran of the US Army.
Jim was a member of the Jonesboro Kiwanis, West Memphis Lions, Pine Bluff Rotary. He was a deacon at the Jonesboro First Assembly of God and Marion Christian Assembly. In 1965, Jim represented Arkansas at the New York Worlds Fair as member of Wonder State Quartet. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, sister Minie Louise Britton, son James Christian Wilmoth and brothers Jasiel, E. Joe, and Ruel Wilmoth.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Wilmoth of the home; daughter, Beverlee Rene Wilmoth of Jonesboro sister, Melda Tanner of Poplar Bluff, MO; 3 grandchildren, India Jenkins Garner, Dylan Colby Wilmoth and Keech Boone Wilmoth and 1 great grandchild, Ryder Griffin Dean Garner.
Visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Emerson Memorial Chapel. The service will be Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 10 AM at Emerson Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Bros. Dane Hall and Matt Smith will be officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
