Jim L. Williams

Jim L. Williams, 79, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, October 7, 2010, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Born in Knobel, Jim lived there and operated Williams Auto Service for many years before retiring to Jonesboro in 1988. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Josie Gettings Williams, and by a sister, Bertha Price.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta Williams of the home;

1 sister, Dorothy Gibbs of Brewton, Alabama;

1 daughter, Jeaninea Bare and husband Terry Bare, both of Jonesboro;

2 sons, Johnny Williams and Calvin Williams, both of Jonesboro;

6 grandchildren: Zach Bare, Pilar Bare, Greg Williams, Casey Williams, Cameron Williams and Chelsea Williams;

8 great grandchildren; and

Numerous nieces and nephews.

Lasting memorials may be made to the “Care Team” of First United Methodist Church, 801 S. Main, Jonesboro, AR 72401.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in Jonesboro Memorial Park with Rev. John Miles officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
