Jim Davis

Jimmy “Jim” Dale Davis, 73, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at his home. He was born on August 6, 1952, in Jonesboro to the late Sam and Constance Davis.

Jim worked as a diesel mechanic and had a gift for fixing just about anything with an engine. He especially enjoyed working on vehicles, lawn mowers, and building racing transmissions. Jim was also an avid racecar driver, competing at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway, Batesville, and Imboden. Known for his generosity, he often gave his racing trophies away to children in the crowd. He was a longtime member of Lake Street Baptist Church in Paragould.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Davis, Tommy Davis, and Leon Davis; and his sisters, Inez Hayes, Wilma Davis, Doris Davis, and Patricia Orr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judy Davis of Jonesboro; his son, Chris Davis (Amy) of Paragould; daughters, Melissa Batchlor (Wayne) of Harrisburg and Stacy Wahrer (Scott) of Denver; brother, James Davis (Rhonda) of Harrisburg; sisters, Linda Sharp (Kenny) of Brookland, Kay Gamble of Jonesboro, Cathy Anderson of Jonesboro, and Mary Loucks (Bill) of Horseshoe Bend; grandchildren, Marlina, Daniel, Edge, Bailey, Lexi, Cody, Cole, Hannah, Haley, Brock, Elijah, and Bobbi; and great-grandchildren, Grayson, Houston, Peyton, Deacon, Nikolai, and Annabelle.

Visitation will be held Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lake Street Baptist Church in Paragould. A funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m., also at Lake Street Baptist Church. Burial will take place at Pine Log Cemetery.
