Jim Boyer

Jim Boyer, 64, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday morning, August 21, 2007, at NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Cord, Jim lived in Cave City before moving to Jonesboro where he lived most of his life. He was the owner of General Refrigeration in Jonesboro and was a member of Broadway Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Bay.

Jim served in the Arkansas National Guard and was a 1961 graduate of Valley View High School. He was an avid hunter and was preceded in death by his previous wife, Kay Boyer; by his parents: James Earl Boyer and Zora Rose Boyer; and by a sister: Annelle Hyde.

Survivors include:
His wife: June Boyer of the home;

3 Daughters: Whitney Meece of Mountain Home, and
Angie Moring, and
Myca Ferguson, both of Jonesboro;

2 Sons: Jim Pruitt of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and
Mark Pruitt of Jonesboro;

1 Step Daughter: Kalene Warner of Manchester, Tennessee;

2 Step Sons: Vic Brooks of Jonesboro, and
Chad Brooks of Kennett;

4 Sisters: Amy Willie and
Earlene Tisdale, both of Paragould, and
Glenda Boyer, and
June Boyer, both of San Diego;

19 Grandchildren, and
4 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Joel McMasters officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers include: Jerry Pickering, Elmer Brown, James Becker,
Jerry McMinn, Paul Calkin and Jack Gulley.

Honorary pallbearers include members of Valley View Class of 1961.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.

For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
