Jessie Wayne Pirtle

April 29, 1942 — July 30, 2016

Jessie Wayne Pirtle, 73, of Jonesboro passed from this life Saturday, July 30, 2016 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born April 29, 1942 in Caraway to the late Jess and Louise Pirtle.

Jessie lived his entire life residing in northeast Arkansas where he was of the Baptist belief. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also loved wood crafts. Most of Jessie enjoyed spending time with family and spoiling his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, Jessie is preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and one great grandchild.

Jessie is survived by his wife Mary Ann Pirtle of fifty four years; son: Billy (Sue) Pirtle of Jonesboro; four daughters: Tammy (Paul) Eastworth of Jonesboro, Lisa (Paul) Wortham of Jonesboro, Kim (Steven) Smith of Paragould, and Tellisa (Nathan) Taylor of Blytheville; brother: Michael (Lajena) Pirtle of Fayetteville; sister: Betty Jo Trantham of Monticello; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be from 10 am until 12 pm Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Emerson Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be at 12:30 pm Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Active pallbearers will include: Paul Wortham, Paul Eastworth, Steven Smith, Nathan Taylor, Aaron Chadwick, Steven Wortham, Alex Smith, and Greg Pirtle.
