Jesse Clinton (J.C.) Moses, 70, of Jonesboro, went to be with his Lord Monday, May 27, 2013, at his home.
J.C. was born September 16, 1942, at DeSoto, Missouri. His family moved to Arkansas when he was very young and lived in Greene and Craighead Counties most of his life. J.C. was a 1960 graduate of Greene County Tech High School and a 1967 graduate of Arkansas State University. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. C.E. and Hazel Moses of Paragould.
J.C. was a man of great faith. He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church where he taught the Retired Businessmen’s Sunday school class for several years. He was a faithful witness for his Lord Jesus everywhere he went. Because of the guidance of his Godly father and mother, J.C. was saved at any early age, and after retiring as a Sales Representative with 30 years of service in northeast Arkansas, he devoted most of his time to studying God’s Word. His desire was for everyone to come to know his best friend, Jesus Christ, son of the living God!!
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Cathern Rushing Moses, who was also his high school sweetheart; 2 sons and daughter-in-law: Jeffery Scott and Marsha Moses of Cabot, and Anthony Todd Moses of Denver, Colorado; and two granddaughters: Katie Lynn Moses of Conway and Bailey Elizabeth Moses of Cabot. J.C. was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved people and is leaving a multitude of friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 at Walnut Street Baptist Church with Rev. Glen Putman and Rev. Jerry Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Holmes Phillips, Ross Burton, Jim Smith. Michael Coe, Gene Nettles and Jim Gillis. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Retired Businessmen’s Sunday school class.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, 5:30-8:00 at Emerson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that consideration be given to the Walnut Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 1910 Scenic Drive, Jonesboro, AR 72401, or St. Bernards Hospice Program, 400 East St., Jonesboro, Ar 72401.
