Jerry Turner

October 15, 1941 — August 2, 2020

Jerry Allen Turner, 78, of Jonesboro passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born October 15, 1941 to the late Fergus Turner and Alva Harrison. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Buster Turner, Junior Turner, Albert Turner, Lee Roy Turner, Dee Troy Turner, and Robert Turner; sisters Althea Baus and Charlene Duncan; and one son Jerry Jr.

Jerry loved spending his time hunting and fishing. He loved fishing so much he had a large collection of lures. Above all else, Jerry loved his family endlessly. He was a devout husband to his wife, Jeannie. His sons were his pride and joy, and you could always find him doting on his beautiful grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Jeannie Turner, of the home. Two sons, Scotty Turner (Leila) and Ted Turner (Jackie); one step-daughter, Deb Goss (John); one sister Anne Johansen; seven grandchildren, Dustin, Shane, Halston, Melia, Megan, Meredith, and Jessica; and seven great-grandchildren, Arden, Brighton, Samuel, Kaden, Adilyn, Xavier, and Layton.

Funeral services will be Thursday August 6, 2020 at 2:00 pm, with Bro. Jimmy Young officiating, at Emerson Funeral Home. A public visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service, with burial following at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Due to COVID 19 guidelines, facemask must be worn while at the visitation and funeral. At graveside, social distancing is strongly recommended.
