Jerry Sims

Jerry Sims, 70, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at St. Bernard's Medical Center. A life-time resident of Jonesboro, Jerry was a member of Southwest Church of Christ; past president of the Jonesboro Jaycees; a member of the US Army Reserve and coached youth sports. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Pauline Sims; son, Kelley Sims, and a brother, Charles Sims.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maralyn, of the home; daughters Kimberly Sims, Little Rock; and Karrie Sims Evans and Husband Joe of Collierville, Tennessee; Daughter-in-law Misti Sims of Jonesboro; brother Bill Sims, Jonesboro; grandchildren, Mackenzie Sims, Bailee Sims, Taylor Evans, and Cole Evans.

A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 6, 2009, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Tad Rogers officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.
