Jerry Wayne Shaver Sr.

Jerry Wayne Shaver Sr., 68, of Jonesboro died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at NEA Baptist Medical Center. He had lived most of his life in the Jonesboro area and was a member of the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Nettleton Masonic Lodge, and loved old cars, auctions and fishing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thurman and Willie Mouzy; parents, Alice Shaver Henson and Jack Shaver and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Harriet Shaver of the home; sons, Jerry Wayne Shaver Jr.; Chris Shaver (Laura) all of Jonesboro; daughters, Sue McElrath (David) Brownsville, Tennessee; Regina Saffell (Winred) of Lake City; brothers, Jimmy Henson of West Memphis; James Henson of Jonesboro; sisters, Shirley Cooper of Jonesboro; Joyce Jackson of Bay; Susan Baltz and Brenda Ausburn both of Jonesboro; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Harmony Missionary Baptist Church with Vance Turner officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time.
