Jerry Lee McElroy, 74, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Monday October 9, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born in Jonesboro on February 28, 1943 to the late James W. and Mary Gage McElroy.
Jerry lived in Jonesboro most of his life and had a great passion for his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and loved his two dachshund “Sugar and Sweet Pea”. Jerry loved old classic cars where he would even drag race them at times. He was a member of the Refuge Baptist Church in Lake City, was a 32nd degree mason. A 50 years member of Monette lodge # 558, and a U.S. Air Force Vietnam Era veteran.
Survived by his wife of 47 years; Tommye McElroy of the home.
Sons; Bryon McElroy (Tracey) of Copperas Cove, Texas and Bobby McElroy (Crystal McMurray) of Henderson, Colorado.
Brother; Larry McElroy (Norma) of Jonesboro.
Grandchildren; Shae Battles, Cody McElroy, Alice McElroy, Tiffany Bunton, Braedin McElroy and Jessie James McElroy. Great grandchildren; Tristen Battles, Skylar Battles and Isaiah Bunton.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 17, 2017 at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye, Arkansas with Masonic rites and military honors. Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be held on Monday October 16, 2017 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
