Jerry Wayne May

Mr. Jerry Wayne May,79, of Jonesboro, departed this life on Friday, June 17, 2022, at his residence. He was born September 15, 1942 to the late Henry and Dorothy May in Bauxite, Arkansas.

Jerry was a 1960 graduate of Cabot High School, and attended four years at Arkansas State University in the class of 1972, majoring in History and Sociology. He served our country for four years in the United States Air Force. He started working at W.A. Kreugar, which later changed names to Quebecor World which he retired from in 2005. Jerry would go once a year traveling with the US Radar Sites Iceland 667 th -932 nd , 933 rd – 934 th where they would go to different Air Force bases to visit them.

Anything you needed to know about their family Jerry would know, he spent so much time doing genealogy on their family. He knew so much about the family, that at family reunions you were lucky to get away from him talking about the family history.  He always enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching and reading westerns, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents Jerry is preceded in death by; one brother, Henry Terrance; paternal grandparents, Elmer and Laura May; and maternal grandparents, W.C. and Louella Foster.

Jerry is survived by; one son, Charles May of Brookland; one sister Judy Noble of Romance, AR; one niece, Tina (Stephen) Harris of Cabot, AR; one great nephew, Matt Harris of Palm Bay, FL; one great-great nephew Levi Harris of Palm Bay, FL; and a lifetime of family and friends.

Friends may visit Emerson Funeral Home on Thursday, June 23, 2022 beginning at 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
