Jerry Lee “Frog” Cornwell, 60, of Brookland, Arkansas went to walk together with God on February 4, 2008. Born in Amagon, he had lived in Brookland for the past 12 years, moving there from Cash. He was a retired farmer and loved fishing and hunting. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran and a member of the Brookland Church of Christ.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Cornwell Gladish, Tonya Cornwell, both of Brookland; brothers, W.L. Cornwell, Brookland, David Cornwell, Marked Tree, Buddy Cornwell, Mountain Home; sisters, Bernice Cagle, Marked Tree, Marie Webster, Jacksonville; sisters-in-law, LaWanda Cornwell, Diaz, Virginia Todd, Amagon; aunts, Myrtle Tate, Gatha Lee Lowery; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family wishes to give special thanks to St. Bernards Medical Center’s staff of MICU and to Dr. Scott Laffoon and Dr. Mark Sifford for their kindness and care.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Cornwell; his parents, Buck & Ruby Lowery Cornwell; sisters, Nellie Cornwell, Geneva Goodman; brothers, Kenneth Cornwell, Carroll Dean Cornwell, and G.L. Cornwell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 8, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Brookland Church of Christ with Lance Guest and John-Mark Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Wayne Rogers, Joe Mathis, Greg Smith, Granville Guest, Edgar Guest, and Dub Gatlin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Bobo & family, Pete & Loretta Gilbert and family, Junior Cliff and family, Gary George and family, and members of Brookland Church of Christ.
Visitation will be from 1 until service time at the Brookland Church of Christ.
